Hamlin has given talks on art appreciation and drawing from ones imagination. She has worked part time at commercial freelance art, which included illustrating for children's authors and doing cartoons for rural newspapers. Hamlin now paints full time, working from her studio in the Manitoba Interlake Region.
Hamlin's knowledge of art is a life long learning experience as she continues to add to her extensive library of art books. She has also attended workshops with leading artists, Zolton Szabo, Clarence Tillenius, John Banovich, and Greg Beecham. She studied Art appreciation at the University of British Columbia, attended the Forum Art Institute in Winnipeg and obtained a BA from the University of Manitoba.
Hamlin's extensive art knowledge base is evident in the depth, mood and movement in her paintings and the life she brings to her subjects.
